Les Etoiles is a non-profit, youth, dance/acting company that is composed of students from Cambridge Rindge and Latin School. The company comes together each summer to produce both original and found work. The company is composed of fifteen Cambridge Rindge and Latin School students with a diverse range of experience: some members have studied for
years, while others have fallen in love
with the craft just this year. Nevertheless, the company is always excited to come together
to
draw on each others' experiences and strengths to create each production.
The company was founded by four CRLS students in January of 2007. They met in an introductory dance class in 2007 at CRLS, and have since become close friends and colleagues in this collaboration. Excited by the possibilities of both theater and dance, we set out to create an original production that we could develop and produce. Intrigued by local history, and inspired by beloved gangster movies set in the 20s, they began writing and choreographing in February. La Vita Abruzzis premeired in July of 2007, and became the company's debut performance.
